Highlights: Alumni Association

An Investment in Our Future
Since the launch of the Together We Reach Campaign in 2005, the Alumni Association has raised more than $2,620,000 for student scholarships through University of Utah license plate sales, annual and lifetime membership contributions, the Homecoming 5K and golf tournament, and other private contributions. We provide scholarships to our future leaders, students who have generously volunteered time to make the University of Utah a better place, students who have overcome tremendous adversity, non-traditional students, first generation college students, out-of-state students, students of diversity, and students in need.

For the 2014-15 academic year, the Alumni Association will award $500,000 in scholarships to incoming freshmen, transfer students, and University of Utah undergraduate and graduate students.

The University of Utah license plate is the largest source of Alumni Association scholarship revenue. Since 2005, the number of license plates has increased from 3,051 to 10,704. The more plates on the road, the more opportunities we can create.

From Alumni House to Alumni Center
An outstanding university deserves an outstanding Alumni Center that fosters a loyal, dedicated alumni community. As stewards of the University of Utah's largest constituency of supporters, including The MUSS student athletics fan club, the Alumni Association has played an integral role in the U's growth and success. In 2011, the Alumni Association officially launched a $10-million capital campaign to expand and renovate the 34-year-old Alumni House into a spacious, multi-functional Alumni Center.

Through scholarships, community service, legislative advocacy, social and athletics events, and professional development, we keep alumni, students and the community connected and engaged with the U in meaningful, long-lasting ways. As we carry on the traditions of the past and plan for the future, it is paramount that the Alumni Association has a headquarters that stands poised to meet the evolving needs and interests of more than 250,000 alumni worldwide.

Due to the generous support of alumni and community members the Association has raised more than $2.3 million toward the renovation and expansion of the iconic Alumni House.

By the end of 2013, the campaign picked up some exciting momentum through several major gifts commitments from important supporters who have set the pace for other contributors.
