The Together We ReachCampaign for Undergraduate Advancement includes three highlights: George S. Eccles Student Life Center, U Futures Scholarships and the University of Utah Scholarship Campaign.
The George S. Eccles Student Life Center will foster student success and achievement for decades to come by providing a state-of-the-art venue to enrich healthy bodies and minds, promote active lifestyles, and foster the spirit of camaraderie and competition.
With a lead gift from the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation and major gifts from Kem Gardner and the University Federal Credit Union, the $7.5M George S. Eccles Student Life Center campaign was completed in spring of 2013.
The U Futures Scholarships were launched by the Board of Trustees in the 2012/13 academic year to provide support to students in their final year in school who are at risk of not completing their degree. Recipients have an "average" GPA and are selected based on financial need and credit hours needed to complete their degree.
To date all 30 awardees graduated and this year all 27 are on track to graduate in spring or summer 2014.
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $3,000 and make all the difference in keeping students on track to graduation and to a better life for themselves and their families.
With leadership from Teresa Beck, Randy Dryer, Don Foot, Kathi Garff, Clark Ivory, and Dave Layton the University of Utah successfully raised over $102M in scholarships for students campus-wide as part of the Together We ReachCampaign.
This extraordinary accomplishment provided the University the means to recruit, retain, and graduate target student populations ranging from freshman to seniors, to first generation and under-represented, non-traditional students and high academic achievers and put them on track to success.
